Life for the believer is a process:
- Regeneration
- Sanctification
- Glorification
In regeneration, we are born again. In glorification, we meet God face to face.
It’s that middle step we are in now.
Paul wrote, “This is the will of God, your sanctification” (1 Thessalonians 4:3).
J. C. Ryle takes us a little deeper. “The means of grace are such as Bible reading, private prayer, and regularly worshiping God in church, wherein one hears the Word taught and participates in the Lord’s Supper. I lay it down as a simple matter of fact that no one who is careless about such things must ever expect to make much progress in sanctification.”
What does this have to do with recovery? The long answer is – Everything!
Like sanctification, recovery is a process. Like sanctification, recovery has no ending. And like sanctification, recovery is its own reward.
Recovery Step: As a Christ-follower, engage the process of sanctification. You will discover this thing called “recovery” along the way.
