Does God still speak to us? Thomas Szasz doesn’t think so. He quipped, “If you talk to God, you are praying; if God talks to you, you have schizophrenia.”
The Bible is clear. God has a history of speaking to us and through us. “Surely the sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7).
God speaks through His Word first; then through circumstances, other people, and the Spirit. But make no mistake – God still speaks.
You have to be weak enough to hear him. Hudson Taylor said, “God uses men who are weak and feeble enough to lean on him.”
Recovery Step: Are you weak enough to hear the voice of God? If not, humble yourself before him today – for the sake of your recovery, family, and future.
