Corrie ten Boom said, “When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away the ticket and jump off. What do you do? You do what the woman who survived a Nazi concentration camp did – you sit still and trust the engineer.”
We are to trust in God, not only in the easy times, but in the “secret place of thunder” (Psalm 91:1).
I’ve learned a few things about trusting God in hard times:
- Don’t doubt in the darkness what God told you in the light.
- Don’t run from the challenge when God is by your side.
- Don’t give up on recovery when you’ve had a slip or relapse.
Recovery Step: Keep trusting. Keep going. Keep moving forward.
