Buried deep in the Old Testament is this fascinating description of a woman named Sheba: “A troublemaker named Sheba happened to be there” (2 Samuel 20:1).
We all have at least one Sheba in our lives. Their lone purpose seems to be to make trouble. They will take us off track, distract us from our recovery, and frustrate us with their nonsense.
What do we do with the Shebas in our lives? I suggest three things.
- Avoid Sheba.
- Don’t negotiate with Sheba.
- Pray for Sheba.
The enemy will bring a Sheba into your life every time you get things back on track. Don’t be fooled. Sheba is just there to cause trouble.
Recovery Step: If you have a Sheba in your life, do something about it.
