There’s only one person who doesn’t have any hidden struggles. That is the person you haven’t met. Once you get to know them, you will discover they are just like everyone else. They have personal struggles that are not always obvious to the rest of us.
Someone said, “I walk around like everything’s fine, but deep down, inside my shoe, my sock is sliding off.”
If your sock is sliding off, you need to tell someone. Otherwise, that “sock” will drive you crazy. Eventually, it will affect your walk in irreparable ways.
The Bible advises, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” The Greek word for “confess” is ekzomologeo, which means to declare, to speak out loud, to divulge or blurt.
If you want true healing, tell someone about the sock that keeps sliding off.
Recovery Step: If you are harboring a personal fault or struggle in secret, bring it to the light with someone you can trust.
