If you want to be sober for the next year, stay sober for the next day.
How did God do his work in the Old Testament? When the Israelites were fighting for their very lives, staving off the enemy, God stepped in. They did all they could, then God did what only he could do. We read how he did it.
“Little by little I will drive them out” (Exodus 23:30).
Notice, God didn’t promise to drive out the enemy all at once. It would be a slow process. That’s how most wonderful things are done – little by little.
Confucius nailed it: “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
