At the conclusion of the morning service, the congregation filed out of the building. As he passed by the pastor, one attendee told him, “Pastor, you must be smarter than Albert Einstein!”
The pastor thanked the man for his praise, but for the next seven days, he wondered what the comment meant. So the next Sunday, the pastor sou2ght out the kind gentleman.
He said, “Last Sunday, you said I must be smarter than Albert Einstein. What did you mean by that?”
The man responded, “They say that Einstein was so smart that only ten people could ever understand what he was talking about. But when you speak, Pastor, nobody can follow what you are saying. So you must be smarter than Albert Einstein.”
What is true for sermons is also true for recovery: simple is better.
Recovery Step: Don’t make things too complicated. Seek the simple peace that emanates from a daily walk with God. Then claim this promise: “A heart at peace gives life to the body” (Proverbs 14:30).
