On April 20, Elon Musk’s SpaceX’s newest Starship rocket exploded just a few minutes after take-off. The next day, Musk lost $12.6 billion of his net worth when Tesla’s stock tanked.
His response? Keep moving forward. Musk called the SpaceX explosion a “successful failure.”
When others would drop their head and mope, Elon Musk learned from what happened, in order to chart a path forward.
I can’t imagine a better example of recovery. Early in my recovery, my sobriety “blew up” every few weeks, if not days. But I kept going to meetings. I kept making calls. I kept going to therapy. And by not giving up, I learned to quit giving in.
It’s one of my favorite verses: “I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).
Recovery Step: I will never meet most of our readers, from over 20 countries from around the world. But I know this about each of you – God has an amazing plan for the rest of your life.
