As a sports lover, I can find something to watch on any day of the year – except two. Over the course of the year, there is at least one game on TV from one of our four major sports (NFL,
MLB, NBA, NHL) every day – except two.
Which two days would those be? The day before and the day after baseball’s all-star game.
For those two days, I’m stuck. No sports. TV shows are in rerun mode. It’s too hot outside (where I live in Florida) to venture beyond my air-conditioned abode.
So what to do? Here’s an idea. For those two days each year, perhaps I can spend more time with God. Novel idea, right? And who knows? Maybe I’ll like it so much that I can do it on the other 363 days of the year that have sports on TV.
Recovery Step: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). Start with two days, then go from there.
