Charles Spurgeon was a prolific author and speaker. Born in 1834, he produced over 3,600 sermons and dozens of books before his death in 1892. Spurgeon came to the Lord as a teenager, apparently by “accident.” En route to an appointment, he was sidetracked by a snowstorm and took refuge in a chapel, where he heard the salvation message. The event set him on the path to becoming the most popular preacher of the 19th century.
One can find thousands of quotes by the “Prince of Preachers.” Here’s one: “We are not responsible to God for the souls that are saved, but we are responsible for the Gospel that is preached, and for the way in which we preach it.”
Step 12 says we give away our recovery to others. Whether they take it or not is not on us. But obeying God is on us.
Recovery Step: “This is how we know we are in him: whoever claims to live in him must also walk as Jesus did” (1 John 2:6).
