On November 11, 1572, a Danish astronomer named Tycho Brahe was staying at his uncle’s castle in Denmark. That castle, Herrevad Abbey, functioned as both a religious monastery and a scientific laboratory. Upon studying the heavens, Brahe said, “Those who study the stars have God for a teacher.”
Isaiah 40:26 “Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the one who leads forth these hosts by number. He calls them by name.”
God hung the stars in place. And that God who is big enough to rule the universe is small enough to touch your heart. The ageless words of We Three Kings say it best:
“O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.”
Recovery Step: Recovery is a daunting task. But when we take a step back and look at the majesty of our Higher Power, recovery suddenly becomes a bit less daunting.
