Dr. David Deyhimy, Medical Director of The Edge Treatment Center, cites recent data on addiction. His findings include:
- 45 million Americans are directly affected by addiction.
- 23 million Americans are in some form of addiction recovery.
- One third of all households have one addict living there.
Addiction is a pandemic on many levels. Your first job, if you are a sex addict, is to admit the magnitude of the problem. You must get honest and tell someone, “I have a problem, and I can’t fix this on my own.”
Jesus said, “The truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
Recovery Step: Say Step 1 with me. “I admit that I am powerless over my addiction and my life has become unmanageable.”
