Step 3: “We made a decision to turn our lives and will over to the care of God as we understood God.”
Notice a keyword in Step 3 – care.
If you aren’t yet ready to trust in God personally, trust in his care.
Call me crazy, but I’m grateful for my addiction. Why? Because it keeps me coming back to God on my knees every single day. I know I can’t make it without him. I suspect God kind of knew that when he allowed the addiction to progress in my adolescent and early adult years. Did he cause it? No! But did he allow it! You bet he did. And I’m so glad that he did!
This morning, I’m going to do what I do every morning. I’m going to make a decision to turn my life and my will over to the care of God as I understand God.
Recovery Step: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up” (James 4:10).
