It finally happened. On February 14, the Detroit Mercy College men’s basketball team won a game. Their record 27-game losing streak had come to an end. With a win over IUPUI, the Titans notched their first win of the season on their home court. The fan went nuts.
Yes, the fan. Not “fans.”
A lone fan stormed the court, dancing around like his team had just won the National Championship. He jumped, hollered, and celebrated, running around like he was on fire. There were other fans in the arena, but this was the only one to run out onto the court.
Sometimes, we need to celebrate, even if no one else does.
The Bible has this promise: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
If you feel like you are on an island, it’s okay. If you are the only one who storms the court, that’s fine. God gets it.
Recovery Step: Learn to storm the court when no one else does.
