A farmer was driving down a road with a load of fertilizer in the back of his truck. A young boy saw him and yelled out, “What do you have in the back of your truck?”
“Fertilizer,” said the farmer.
“What are you going to do with it?” asked the boy.
“I’m putting it on my strawberries,” said the man.
“You ought to live here,” replied the boy. “We put sugar on ours.”
Here’s my question – Which is better, fertilizer or sugar?
Answer: both. You have to use fertilizer in order to grow strawberries, and you need sugar to make them taste their best.
The same principle applies to recovery. In order to enjoy the benefits of recovery (sugar), you have to do the hard work on the front end (fertilizer).
Recovery Step: “What a man sows, he shall also reap” (Galatians 6:7). What are you sowing today?
