Recovery is a team sport.
Even in childhood, Jesus gave us an example of community. One day, his parents went looking for him, only to find him at church. The Bible says, “They found him in the temple. And he said to them, ‘Did you not know that I must be about my Father’s business?’” (Luke 2:46, 49).
Recovery is a team sport.
The early martyrs, who died for the cause of Christianity, spoke volumes with their sacrifice. The power of the fellowship was worth dying for. Tertullian said, “The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.”
Recovery is a team sport.
Jesus died for the Church. We cannot overstate the importance of the larger group. And that is especially true in recovery. You were never intended to walk this road on your own.
Recovery Step: Don’t try to do this alone. Why? Recovery is a team sport.
