King David prayed, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts” (Psalm 139:23-24).
Self-reflection is a huge part of the recovery process. To that end, let me suggest ten questions to ask yourself on a daily basis. At least, ask them at the end of today.
- Did I read Scripture today?
- Did I read any recovery material today?
- Am I holding onto any resentments?
- Am I helping anyone else with their recovery?
- Have I been 100 percent honest today?
- Have I maintained custody of my eyes today?
- Have I been on social media too much today?
- Do I have firm guardrails in place?
- Am I keeping any secrets?
- Have I had a Recovery Day in the last month?
Recovery Step: Hang onto this list. Ask yourself these questions at the end of each day.
