A country doctor had a sign over his office door that read, “First visit $25. All other visits $10.”
A man who was known to be pretty cheap went to see that doctor for the first time. In an attempt to get the lower rate, he greeted the physician with these words: “It’s good to see you again, Doc!”
The doctor conducted a lengthy examination. At the conclusion, his patient said, “Am I okay, Doc?”
The doctor said, “Your condition is very serious. There is one thing you must do, or you will die.”
The man asked, “What is it, Doc? What do I need to do?”
The doctor answered, “The same thing I told you at your last appointment.”
Lying has consequences. That is true for every man who has ever lied to his wife about his porn addiction. And every woman who has lied to her husband about her own addictions. Lying has consequences.
The Bible warns, “The soul that sins will surely die” (Ezekiel 18:20).
