An artist asked the gallery owner if there had been any recent interest in his paintings, which were on display. The gallery owner said one man had asked if the paintings would appreciate after the artist’s death.
“What did you tell him?” asked the artist.
“I told him they would appreciate in value, and he bought 15 of your paintings.”
“That’s great news,” said the artist.
“Not really,” replied the gallery owner. “That man was your doctor.”
Recovery is never a straight line. There are highs and lows, wins and losses. There are sun rises, followed by rain (Matthew 5:45).
The good news is that whenever the rain comes, grace stands ready to follow closely behind.
Max Lucado writes, “Grace is God’s best idea. His decision to ravage a people by love, to rescue passionately, and to restore justly – what rivals it? Of all his wondrous works, grace, in my estimation, is the magnum opus.”
Recovery Step: If you are walking in the rain today, turn to Jesus. Grace is just around the corner.
