Hebrews 10:36 “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
In 1931, America was in the depths of the Great Depression. A young entrepreneur named Conrad Hilton wasn’t just staring foreclosure in the face. He was borrowing money from bellhops to make ends meet. People weren’t traveling, and his hotel chain was going under. That is when Hilton came across a photograph of the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
The world’s tallest hotel, the Waldorf had six kitchens, 200 chefs, 500 waiters, and 2,200 rooms. It even had its own private hospital and railroad station. Hilton kept a picture of that grand hotel and looked at it every day, as motivation for what he could do. Eventually, Hilton purchased 249,024 shares of the Waldorf Corporation, making him the largest shareholder.
Conrad Hilton learned the power of perseverance.
On most days, you will be tested, tempted, teased, and tormented by the enemy. Sometimes, the answer is to just persevere. Stay in the battle. Never quit.
Recovery Step: Pray for the power of perseverance.
