If you want to make God laugh, make your plans in stone.
Uncertainty is a part of life. Even the angels are kept in the dark sometimes. Jesus spoke of the timing of his return: “No one knows the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven” (Matthew 24:36).
We know that our end is closer than it has ever been, whether it comes by death or the return of Christ. Francis Schaeffer drew the picture well: “Life is like a clock with no hands. It’s ticking, but you never know when it’s going to strike midnight.”
What time is it right now? It could be noon. Or 3 pm. Or close to midnight. No one knows. My advice is to be ready at all times.
Recovery Step: Be as sober today as you’ll want to be on your last day on Earth.
