In May of 2024, a bird photographer named Phoo Chan captured a once-in-a-lifetime photo of a crow landing on an eagle in mid-air. The amazing thing is that the eagle seemed unfazed. As some of the largest birds of prey, eagles are harassed and heckled by small birds all the time. How do they deal with it? They fly higher! An eagle’s wingspan and lung capacity enable it to fly above ten thousand feet. Crows get dizzy and faint at seven thousand feet.
Why am I telling you this? I’m not sure, other than I find it interesting. Maybe that’s a good enough reason. God’s creation is interesting.
The New Testament declares, “By him all things were created . . . and all things were created for him” (Colossians 1:16).
“All things” includes the crow that landed on the eagle. God appreciates that. And if that’s true, let me tell you something else. God appreciates you.
Recovery Step: Celebrate the wonder of your creation. God appreciates you. Learn to appreciate yourself.
