In order to stay sober, you need to master the “F” word.
Forgiveness.
Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, trainer of Mindvalley’s Life Vission Mastery Quest, writes, “All forgiveness is self-forgiveness because you’re unbinding yourself from a perception that causes harm to yourself.” Beckwith explains that forgiveness moves you away from the victim consciousness – a state where the core traits include blaming others and refusing to take responsibility.
Thomas Fuller wrote, “He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself; for every man has need to be forgiven.”
Forgiveness is essential to recovery. Paul admonished his readers, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32).
Recovery Step: Work on forgiveness – of yourself, and then others.
