Recovery is all about the next step. But we also need to live today with the end in mind. In his book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Steven Covey writes, “Begin with the end in mind. All things are created twice.”
You create your better future by imagining what it can be, and then by moving in that direction.
Take a moment and consider what you want the end to look like. Then answer these questions:
- What does my end look like?
- What can I do today to move in that direction?
- What discipline can I adopt?
For those who walk with the Lord, we have this promise: “God himself will restore you” (1 Peter 5:10).
Recovery Step: Picture the final frame in your mind. Then start moving in that direction.
