Mr. Potato Head was invented by George Lerner in 1949, and distributed widely by Hasbro. The new children’s toy was an overnight success. And anything that is a success is worth talking about. Within three years, the world had met Mr. Potato Head. In 1952, it became the first toy advertised on national television.
Anything worth having is worth talking about.
Remember the guy who was possessed by a thousand demons? When he found freedom, he let the world know about it. The Bible says he told his story to “Decapolis,” which meant ten cities (Mark 5:19-20). From Day 1 of recovery, the dude launched into Step 12, taking his message to others.
Helping others has been a part of recovery since way before the inception of AA (1939). One of the best ways for you to secure your own recovery is to help someone else secure his.
Recovery Step: Bring the hope of recovery to someone else today.
