What is the key to success, in recovery or in life?
For answers, let’s turn to the ancient Athenian playwriter Sophocles, who was the most accomplished writer and thinker of the fifth century, B.C. Seven of Sophocles’ tragedies have survived to this day, and he is widely considered one of the greatest minds of all time.
When asked the key to success, Sophocles offered this profound counsel: “Success is dependent on your effort.”
Did you get that? Success is dependent on effort. Am I going too fast for you? Let me try to keep it simple. If you are going to have successful recovery, you will have to work really hard at it.
Recovery Step: If the words of Sophocles were too hard to track, try this. “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might” (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
