You can turn your darkness into light. In fact, you’ve got to turn your darkness into light!
Aristotle said, “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.”
In his brilliant book, Survival, pastor Ben Young identifies five typical tactics of what he calls the shadow voice: fear, self-pity, self-indulgence, shame, and regret.
Carl Jung spoke often of this “shadow side.” This is the voice that whispers negative thoughts, murmurs, grumbles, and distracts us from the light. It reminds us of past failures and injustices.
The answer is to walk in the light. John said, “Walk in the light as he is in the light.” (1 John 1:7).
Recovery Step: Walk in the light as he is in the light.
