There are a lot of things that were once accepted as truth that turned out to be a lie:
- The world is flat.
- The earth is the center of the universe.
- Cigarettes don’t cause cancer.
- Albert Einstein failed math in school.
- George Washington had wooden teeth.
- Late-night comedians are actually funny.
Mark Twain said, “A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth gets its shoes on.” He also said, “When you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”
If you’re running with the majority, that may be more of a sign that you are on the wrong side than on the right side.
The prophet proclaimed, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Although they have allies and are numerous, they will be destroyed and pass away’” (Nahum 1:12).
Recovery Step: Most people watch porn. Most people masturbate. Most people are far from God. And most people are wrong. Choose what is right over what is popular.
