Bob asked Jerry, “Describe your perfect date.”
Jerry responded, “I’d have to say April 25. It’s not too hot and it’s not too cold.”
I think Jerry missed the point of Bob’s question. The fact is, those who are single are always on a search for that elusive person we call “the perfect date.”
Unfortunately, there is no perfect date. And there’s a reason for that. “All have sinned and fallen short” (Romans 3:23).
Here’s the thing about sinners. They don’t make for perfect dates. Imperfect people cannot be counted on to be perfect dates. In fact, the opposite is true. So quit looking for perfection and settle for the person God has set apart for you. And until you become the perfect date yourself, give the other person a break.
Recovery Step: If you are single, pray for God to lead you to the right person, not the perfect one.
