One night at the dinner table, the wife asked her husband, “Why is it that you always give me the smaller piece of steak now? When we first got married, you always cut me the larger piece of the streak. You don’t love me anymore!”
“Not at all,” said her husband.
“Then why do you take the larger piece of steak now?”
He explained, “Because you’re a better cook now.”
There is an interesting word in the Bible about marriage. God said the woman was created to be a “fit” for her husband (Genesis 2:18).
That describes every good marriage I know. The man and woman may not make much sense on their own, but together, they “fit.”
Recovery Step: If you’re married, celebrate that fact. Your imperfect spouse married an imperfect spouse (you) because together, you fit.
