The goal of recovery is to do the right thing, then let the results follow. Focus on recovery work, not recovery. If you do that – go to meetings, work the Steps, remain accountable – solid recovery will be the inevitable result.
The Bible calls this “sowing seeds.” Solomon said, “Sow your seed in the morning and at evening let your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed” (Ecclesiastes 11:6).
Good recovery includes bad days. You will face the fantasy, long for lust, and fight daily battles. You won’t win every skirmish, but you can absolutely win the war.
John Maxwell says, “Success is knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others.”
Recovery Step: The best time to get into recovery was 25 years ago. The next best time is today. Start sowing good seeds of recovery today.
