Jonah 1:3-6 “But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa, and he found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.”
When God instructed Jonah to go to Nineveh, he caught a ship in the opposite direction. When you walk away from God, you will find plenty of ships going in the wrong direction.
We get it backward. Somewhere along the line, we were duped into thinking that God’s road is downhill, straight, and without potholes. The opposite is true. But that’s a good thing. The path is not always easy, nor is it fun. But it’s worth it.
Recovery Step: Have you encountered challenges to your recovery? Or to your marriage? That’s to be expected. Stay the course. Anyone can jump ships in the middle of the storm.
