On a visit to America, former Russian Premier Nikita Khrushchev was taken to a pro football game. Following the game, he was asked what he thought of American football. Khrushchev replied, “Never have I seen such first-class passion and energy wasted on a third-class cause.”
Now, I don’t make it a habit of quoting Russian leaders, but the man had a point.
The old prophet said it like this: “You look for much, but behold, it comes to little, when you bring it home, I blow it away” (Haggai 1:9).
Every time you sneak around looking at pornography, you are wasting first-class energy on a third-class cause. It makes no sense. You’re better than that. Plus, there are a lot of first-class causes that are more deserving of your passion.
Like recovery.
