There are three gospels:
- Poverty gospel: we are meant to be poor
- Prosperity gospel: we are meant to be rich
- Generosity gospel: we are meant to help others
One of these “gospels” is unlike the other two. Two of them are about me. One is about you. When I buy into the poverty gospel or the prosperity gospel, I am making it all about myself. But when I live according to the generosity gospel, I am focused on helping others.
Take a wild guess which one is biblical, and which one paves the road to recovery.
That would be the generosity gospel. It is when we help others that we get well ourselves.
Recovery Step: The secret to helping yourself is to help others. Be generous to someone who needs you today.
