Words matter. Don’t take my word for it. Consider the testimony of the wisest man who ever lived. Solomon said, “It is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time” (Proverbs 15:23).
The average person speaks anywhere from 2,000 to 10,000 words a day, depending on which study you trust, and whether the person talking is male or female.
Mark Twain said, “Action speaks louder than words, but not nearly as often.”
We all say a lot of words each day. But counting your words matters less than making your words count.
Here are three really good words you might try to use more often today, courtesy of Mark Batterson’s new book:
Recovery Step: Make your words count today.
