Dr. Joyce Brothers mused, “Marriage is not just a spiritual communion. It is also remembering to take out the trash.”
If you are a sex addict, you need to take out the trash.
Solomon said, “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy” (Proverbs 28:13).
Your trash may come in the following forms:
- Secret social media accounts
- Hidden cell numbers
- Cash
- Porn access
- Secret email accounts
- Hidden letters
The list is endless. Anything you are holding onto that your spouse isn’t aware of has to go. For the sex addict, every day is trash day. It’s time to take out the trash.
Recovery Step: What are you holding onto today? What secrets are you keeping? All trash must go. Today – it’s trash day.
