A lady lost her purse in a shopping mall. It was found by a young boy, who was happy to return it. When the woman looked through her purse, she found something odd. “When I lost my purse, there was a $20 bill in it. Now there are twenty $1 bills.”
The boy replied, “That’s right, lady. The last time I found a lady’s purse, she didn’t have any change for a reward.”
Let me offer you a direct challenge. Don’t surrender to God, read Scripture and pray in order to find recovery. Do these things, whether they lead to recovery or not. (They will.)
God is longing for you to seek him in order that you mind find him – period.
Recovery Step: The Bible says, “Work heartily, as for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23). Don’t seek and serve him in order to find a reward. Nail this down – seeking and serving God is the reward.
