“Trust me, you can dance.”
– Vodka
Alcohol has that effect on people. With a few drinks, the alcohol takes over, and you become someone different.
That explains Ephesians 5:18. Paul wrote, “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Why did Paul draw a correlation between drunkenness and being filled with the Spirit? Because when you are filled with the Spirit, you become someone different.
Reinhard Bonnke wrote, “The less Holy Spirit we have, the more cake and coffee we need to keep the church going.”
Many of us do recovery the same way. We rely on just about anything except the Holy Spirit.
Recovery Step: Empty yourself and receive the filling of the Holy Spirit today. Your recovery depends on it.
