“Martha said to Jesus, ‘Lord if you had been here, my brother would not have died’” (John 11:21).
How many times have you said that? “Lord, if you had been here…”
Martha was right. Jesus could have been there and he could have prevented Lazarus’ death. But he didn’t.
For that matter, he could have walked through every hospital and healed every person. But he didn’t do that either.
Billy Graham wrote, “Sometimes, God brings healing. But sometimes he doesn’t. And his way is always best because his ways are always best for us. The Christian life is not about physical well-being. That should never be our highest goal.”
Recovery Step: Set your sight on spiritual healing more than physical healing. But pray for both.
