We live in a crazy universe.
You are on a giant merry-go-round that is spinning on its axis at 1,000 miles per hour and speeding through space at 67,000 miles per hour. So even on a day when you didn’t get much done, you did travel 1.6 million miles through space. And you did this as part of the Milky Way Galaxy, which is moving at 1,342,162 miles per hour.
For this incredible universe, God deserves all the glory. After all, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).
Where I live, we see some of the most incredible sunsets on the planet. And wherever you live, you see stunning anomalies from time to time – beautiful snowfall, interesting cloud formations, falling stars, solar and lunar eclipses.
But I love what G.K. Chesterton said: “We should be startled by the sun, and not by the eclipse.”
The extraordinary creation of God should impress us every day.
