Read this passage, and try to pick out the key word.
“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Did you catch it? The key word – were.
The Corinthian believers were slanderers. They were swindlers. They were idolaters. They were adulterers. They were drunkards.”
Were. Were. Were. Were. Were. I love that word – were.
Write this on the tablet of your mind. Stamp it into your memory banks. Imprint it in your heart. You are a were.
Recovery Step: You are a were! It’s time to turn a new page. The things you were do not define who you are!
